Make your own dish soap

Dish soap is super easy (as long as you are familiar with the soap making process, if this is your first time making soap, try this first >>) and a good and cheap soap to make!
TIP!
Make the dish soap in individual small molds. The soap hardens incredibly quickly, making it difficult to cut - In addition, it is practical to have ready-made "portion pieces" of this soap that are good for both laundry and dishes! An excellent stain removal soap. You can use muffin molds if you don't have any fun molds at home.
DO NOT use aluminum molds as the soap will react negatively to this!

You need: Container, scales, hand blender, soap mold, ingredients (water, lye (NaOH) and coconut oil), gloves & safety glasses. |
- Weigh the coconut oil into the heat-resistant container/bowl you will be making the soap in. We use laboratory glass measuring jugs that can withstand the heat the lye/soap develops. Use a container that holds at least twice the amount of batter you will be making.
- Weigh out water in a heat-resistant beaker.
- Weigh the lye (NaOH) into a chemical-resistant beaker (glass or ceramic)
- Pour the lye into the water and stir until everything dissolves. ALWAYS LYE IN WATER AND NOT VICE-VERSELY
- Let the lye cool for a few minutes and then pour it over the coconut oil in the manufacturing container. Stir with a glass rod, for example, until the coconut oil has melted and everything is mixed.
- Insert the hand blender, tilt the hand blender head to release any air, and blend the batter until it starts to thicken. Be careful, it can go fast! (about 10 seconds with a good hand blender)
- As soon as the batter starts to thicken (curl), stop mixing and pour into the molds. Let set.
Pure coconut soap matures and hardens quickly. The laundry and dish soap is ready to use after about a day, but has hardened best after about a week or so. (It lasts and lasts as long as you want...)
